1.
All of my blood thinks I don’t know which way is up (How it feels to be in love) A flame and its reflection I blow it out Steal my name back from your mouth (“Alright” reprise)
2.
Though I see in generational color I hold pictures of myself and I can’t remember There’s a world behind my eyes though I seem vacant all the time When I was younger you would say that I was making a mistake So lonely I’m hiding somewhere in between myself and somewhere on the screen, though the internet saved me when I was younger
3.
2Tru 03:32
I thought this was too true to be good I thought this was a memory Distant Close but distant Distant as a memory Is this how you want? Distant as a memory? I’m feeling it again the way I did before I’m feeling it before the way I did again I’m feeling it again the way I did before I’m feeling it before the way I did again
4.
Dreamcast 03:23
It’s 1999 You’re taking pennies from a child and playing Dreamcast My eyes have seen it all but they wanna leave the wall to catch the magic You’re not as dumb as just anyone at 21, all in all
5.
Everything 02:14
Did what I saw make you kiss me on the head? I loved her then but it took until now to know I make a thing of the past I villainize the future Everything, all in time Everything to be villainized If and when it will arrive Everything I need this I wrote this with you in mind
6.
Magic Screen 02:16
You’re just within reach on the other side of the screen Do you see me? Do I really seem like who I pretend to be? I wanna be your baby It’s there I don’t pretend To surrender and enforce! Like water on the earth Like the difference between “excuse me” and “I’m sorry” But I need you to need me! (I hold the magic screen) There’s an aching when I don’t call you And when you call me I “screen”
7.
Like water and oil old friends greet me at the door of my new graces, belonging They say, “we can’t! It’s not just that!” I want it to be true in the face of losing you and my new graces I’m feigning and I hate it Connection simulated I wanted to be true in the face of losing you and my new graces
8.
Reappear 03:04
You take your madness out on us Head to the coast You take your madness out on anything I’ve come to love I’ll not reappear What you want is not what I want
9.
Undone 02:10
In the way its been relayed to me in the movement of our understanding I’m awake to what you say of me and it’s making me come undone Yes yes yes yes yes yes yes It took you to see there’s nothing wrong with me
10.
Samuel David Smith died in 1996 Something in me died then I’m living this way as a woman No one can explain exactly how it feels to be themselves No one can explain, I imagine, how it feels to be themselves Something in me switched when I told you I was sick You didn’t believe me then I’m living this way as a woman No one can explain exactly how it feels to be themselves No one can explain, I imagine, how it feels to be themselves I’m just one of them

about

Generational Color attempts to capture the liminal space between the perceived and the actual, highlighting that one’s schema defines the holistic experience of all that’s encountered on conscious and subconscious levels. All senses are spoken to and transmutation is inevitable. Time is nonlinear where today’s responses cross-reference yesterday’s experiences through subconscious, automatic resources. Projected onto relationships, objects, and experiences, these discrepancies necessitate creation.

From Lauren:

"Special thanks to those that have helped me meet myself along the way:

Siblings, all Smiths, Mrs. Hertig, Dana and Shanell, Timmons fam, Dastrup babies, Bruce Call, Potters and Bonifays, Lainey Wardlow, Marie Klinger, Andrew Aguilera, Liz Greene DNP, Gabi again, Becki Briem, Eggertz fam, Maddy Rupard, Chase and Ash Coppins, Jilleun Jasperson, and certainly more.

To Korey Martin for “getting it”: conceptually, verbally, and visually.

To Actual Source crew for supporting us so much

My part dedicated to the journeys of the Dastrup babies and my brother Dyson, a champion of all that I create."
